Stencils and Pencils

These 2 cards are almost copies of the ones made by Kristina Werner on day 2 of class. I made my own stencils again – I think I may end up doing that regularly now as it really is easy.
Thanks for looking.

Making Stencils

I really enjoyed making this one and learnt a lot!!
Although there are still MANY ideas I want to try from day 1 of class, when I saw the card by Kristina Werner on day 2 of class I just had to have a go.
The first problem was I didn’t have the stencil Kristina used so I had to make one. A splat didn’t look too difficult to attempt and after about half an hour of fiddling I had a cutting file. I had a thin sheet of white plasticard that I thought would make a great stencil but I had not tried cutting it in my Silver Bullet before so that was another learning curve. Eventually the cutting was a great success and here is the resulting card. I didn’t stamp through the stencil as Kristina did, I had forgotten that by the time I got that far lol.

I have the cutting file in PDF or Scut3 format if anyone would like it.

Simple Sponging over a stencil

I made this on first day of STENCILLED class using simple sponging over a stencil as shown by Debby Hughes
card 1
I coloured some spare card with the same ink and then cut a selection of hearts, using some of them to replace the spots in the stencil pattern.
It is not really noticeable in the photo but I added some sparkling embossing powder as suggested by Jennifer McGuire in one of the videos later in the class.

Just Stamping!

Another online card class coming up – this time about using stencils.

I am just waiting for the first class to be posted so had a go at a quick simple card that has been in my mind for some time but somehow I never actually got around to making.

“Insider” at Online Card Classes.

This week has been busy but the card by Laura Bassen on day 2 of the “Insider” class at Online Card Classes made me take time out to have a go. This is the one of the best uses I have seen in making a card from acetate and I actually had the Mama Elephant stamp that she used to create the plaid background so I set too and made more or less a copy of Laura’s card.
I will certainly use both the ‘plaid’ design and this way of using the acetate on future cards.

Thanks for looking.

Week 2 day 1…

Week 2 day 1

The next two weeks of Summer Card Camp are going to be much more difficult to keep up with as I am teaching in our shop a lot of the time but here is my first card of week 2. I felt much more at ease with this week’s colour scheme and had a bit less difficulty putting this card together.

The card is roughly based on the first sketch of the week and Jennifer’s example card but as I did a circular card last week I used a different die cut this time.

On idea I have picked up on from the classes this time is to leave the small white border when fussy cutting stamped images. It is something I have not thought to do before but I really like the effect. I used it last week and have used it again on this card.

Чамд Баярлалаа

Another card using the 3rd colour scheme of day 5. While assembling the card I changed the sentiment and decided to stamp it directly on the base card – unfortunately I messed it up a bit but decided to post it anyway. I definitely need more practice with getting stamps right first time 🙂
